Protection

ERINN V. is protected with high-quality varnish that provides a highly durable barrier to many familiar elements; however, any finish is susceptible to wear and will break down from prolonged exposure to unusual abuse.

Protect all wooden furniture from direct sunlight; exposure to the sun's rays can dry out the wood and bleach the finish.

Extreme changes in humidity should be avoided. Do not place your wood, lacquer or leafed furniture near air vents, as forced air can adversely affect the product. Extremely dry air can cause wood to crack and finishes to lift.

Do not place hot or moist objects directly on the wood. Never let water stand on a wood surface, and always use a protective barrier under flower vases filled with water to keep moisture from drawing into the wood. Use coasters under glasses to prevent water marks.

Cover the bottoms of accessories and other tabletop items with felt to prevent scratching. Rubber or plastic left on the finish can also cause damage or discoloration.

Housekeepers should be cautioned to avoid banging legs and bases with vacuum cleaners, and to avoid using bleaching detergents, etc. for cleaning.

Cleaning For Wood, Lacquer and Leaf Finishes

Dust several times a week to maintain a clean surface and protect the finish from soil build up. Use a clean, lint-free, micro fiber cloth for general dusting. Always dust along the length of the grain rather than a circular or random motion.

Clean by using a dry or slightly damp soft cloth. Follow by polishing with a dry soft cloth. Ensure the surface is immediately and completely dried. Do not use commercial, heavy-duty polishes or waxes, as they can yellow light finishes.

Cleaning For Brushed Metals (Monroe Tables)

Clean the surfaces with warm water and mild soaps such as those used for hands or 409 Glass & Surface Cleaner and warm water with a mild soap such as those used for hands or dishes. Household cleaners, nonammoniated detergents, or glass cleaners may be used. Stubborn stains may be removed with a thin, clean oil and a dry cloth. After cleaning, always wipe the surface completely dry with a soft, clean cloth.

Do NOT use cleaners that contain abrasives, acids or alkalis, as they will mar the surface. Ammoniated detergents or petroleum-based cleaners should not be used.

Do NOT clean metal face with solvents, paint thinner or adhesive remover.

Cleaning For Glass and Mirror

Glass and mirror can be cleaned by wiping with a soft damp cloth or glass cleaner with no ammonia or other additives. Apply glass cleaner to a soft cloth rather than directly on to the fixture to avoid overspray that may damage other finishes.

Damage and Repair

For extensive repair, please contact ERINN V. Unauthorized repair work will void the Warranty. Wood is a living product that changes and ages over time. With regular care and a stable environment, the furniture can be enjoyed for a lifetime of daily use.

Cushion Care

Cushions and pillows should be hand fluffed regularly to maintain softness and resilience of the filling materials. Rotate cushions and pillows occasionally to distribute wear.

Pillow Maintenance Should Be Performed As Follows:

  1. Unzip the pillow casing – do not remove the pillow insert
  2. Move filling material into the corners of the pillow by adjusting the pillow insert
  3. Zip up the pillow casing
  4. Fluff the pillow

Foam Cushion Maintenance Should Be Performed As Follows:

  1. Unzip the cushion casing – do not remove the cushion insert.
  2. Insert your arm towards the front of the cushion, while holding the front of the cushion core adjust the cushion casing so that the seams in front and the cushion core are in alignment
  3. Zip up the cushion casing

General Care

Avoid placing your furniture in direct sunlight. All fabric will fade over time. Darker colors may fade dramatically in direct sunlight.

Vacuum upholstery weekly (using the upholstery attachment and crevice tool for your vacuum) to prevent permanent fabric soiling and abrasions from crumbs, dust, etc.

Periodic cleaning by a professional upholstery cleaning service is recommended. Annual cleaning is suggested, but this may vary depending on use.

Always blot spills immediately with a clean, absorbent white cloth.
